गुरुशुश्रूषया त्वेव ब्रह्मलोकं समश्नुते

इमं लोकं मातृभक्त्या पितृभक्त्या तु मध्यमम्।
गुरुशुश्रूषया त्वेव ब्रह्मलोकं समश्नुते॥
imaṁ lokaṁ mātṛbhaktyā pitṛbhaktyā tu madhyamam|
guruśuśrūṣayā tveva brahmalokaṁ samaśnute||
By honouring/worshipping (one’s) mother he gains this world, by honouring one’s father the middle sphere, but by obedience to his Teacher, the World of Brahman.

पञ्चैते पितरः स्मृताः

जनिता चोपनेता च यश्च विद्यां प्रयच्छति।
अन्नदाता भयत्राता पञ्चैते पितरः स्मृताः॥
janitā copanetā ca yaśca vidyāṁ prayacchati|
annadātā bhayatrātā pañcaite pitaraḥ smṛtāḥ||
“One who gives birth, one who performs rituals and cultural ceremonies, one who teaches and educates, one who gives food and one who protects from danger — These are considered the five fathers of a man”
