दीपज्योतिर्नमोऽस्तु ते

शुभं करोति कल्याणम् आरोग्यं धनसम्पदः।
शत्रुबुद्धिविनाशाय दीपज्योतिर्नमोऽस्तु ते॥
śubhaṁ karoti kalyāṇam ārogyaṁ dhanasampadaḥ|
śatrubuddhivināśāya dīpajyotirnamo’stu te||
Bestows auspiciousness , good fortune, health,
Destroyer of evil thoughts (ignorance?) — Salutations to the light of the lamp

It is common to recite this shloka while lighting the lamp…

इयं सीता मम सुता

अब्रवीत् जनको राजा कौसल्यानन्द वर्धनम्।
इयं सीता मम सुता सहधर्मचरी तव॥७३-२६॥
प्रतीच्छ चैनां भद्रं ते पाणीं गृह्णीश्व पाणिना।
पतिव्रता महभागा छाय इव अनुगता सदा॥७३-२७॥
इत्युक्त्वा प्राक्षिपत् राजा मन्त्र पूतं जलं तदा।
साधु साधु इति देवानाम् ऋषीणां वदतां तदा॥७३-२८॥
— श्रीमद्वाल्मीकिरामयणे बालकाण्डः
abravīt janako rājā kausalyāananda vardhanam|
iyaṁ sītā mama sutā sahadharmacarī tava||73-26||
pratīccha caināṁ bhadraṁ te pāṇīṁ gṛhṇīśva pāṇinā|
pativratā mahabhāgā chāya iva anugatā sadā||73-27||
ityuktvā prākṣipat rājā mantra pūtaṁ jalaṁ tadā|
sādhu sādhu iti devānām ṛṣīṇāṁ vadatāṁ tadā||73-28||
— śrīmadvālmīkirāmayaṇe bālakāṇḍaḥ
“Janaka addressed Rama who is the enhancer of his mother Kausalya’s rejoice;
This is Sita, my daughter, she [will] be your follower (companion) in dharma.
Take her wishfully, let safeness/auspicious things betide you, Accept her, holding her hands with yours;
She who is prosperous and husband-devout, will always be abiding you like your own shadow.
Saying thus, King Janaka then poured forth water into the palms of Rama, which was sanctified with mantras;
As the Gods and Sages said “Excellent! Excellent!”
