siṁhaḥ śiśurapi nipatati mada malina kapola bhittiṣu gajeṣu|
prakṛtiriyaṁ sattvavatāṁ tejasāṁ hi na vayaḥ samīkṣyate||38||
— bhartṛhareḥ nītiśatakam

The lion, even when a cub, attacks jumps upon the cheek of an intoxicated elephant.
It is indeed the nature of the courageous : the age of the glorious ones is never relevant.

Alternative last pāda:

na khalu vayastejaso hetuḥ

bālasyāpi raveḥ pādāḥ patantyupari bhūbhṛtāṁ |
tejasā saha jātānāṁ vayaḥ kutropayujyate ||

Even the feet of a young sun can fall on the top of mountains.
For those born with brilliance, where indeed is age used.
(Age is not relevant for great deeds by the brilliant)
(Thanks to Kedar, again!)

ekacakro ratho yantā vikalo viṣame hayāḥ|
ākrāmatyeva tejasvī tathāpyarko nabhastalam||

"He has a chariot with one wheel, a disabled charioteer (it is believed that अरुणः was a cripple), and an odd number of horses (seven) to draw the chariot.
Even then the briliant sun always attacks the sky !!"

Thanks to Kedar for this wonderful piece…
