gururna sa syāt svajano na sa syāt
pitā na sa syājjananī na sā syāt|
daivanna tat syāt na patiśca sa syān-
na mocayedyaḥ samupeta-mṛtyum||5-5-18||
—śrīmadbhāgavate pañcame skande pañcamo’dhyāyaḥ
One is not a guru (worthy of being a guru); one is not a relative
One is not father; one is not a mother;
One is not a deity; one is not a husband;
If they cannot guide those dependent from [the cycle of birth and] death.

Basically, the one who cannot guide their dependents in the path toward moksha, is not worthy of being a guru/relative or well-wisher/father/mother/deity or husband!

ratnākaradhautapadāṃ himālayakirīṭinīm |
brahmarājarṣiratnāḍhyāṃ vande bhāratamātaram ||
To her whose feet are washed by the ocean, who wears the Himalayas as her crown.
[Who] is adorned with the gems of great brahma-rishis and raja-rishis, to Mother Bharatam, do I bow down in respect.

[I found this on the signature of a user on hindu dharma forums]

jananī janmabhūmiśca jāhnavī ca janārdanaḥ |
janakaḥ pañcamaścaiva jakārāḥ pañca durlabhāḥ ||
Mother, motherland, the Ganges, Lord Janardana;
And fifthly, Father, are five extraordinary things (that begin with ‘ja’!)

[Thanks to Shri Srikanth Srinivasan]

He who always (shows) respects (bows to) mother, father and guru,
receives long life, fame and strength (these three) by their blessings.
[Thanks to Shri Srikanth Srinivasan]

He who circumambulates mother and father,
in doing so he is circumambulating the entire world!
[Thanks to Shri Srikanth Srinivasan]

imaṁ lokaṁ mātṛbhaktyā pitṛbhaktyā tu madhyamam|
guruśuśrūṣayā tveva brahmalokaṁ samaśnute||
By honouring/worshipping (one’s) mother he gains this world, by honouring one’s father the middle sphere, but by obedience to his Teacher, the World of Brahman.

rājapatnī guroḥ patnī bhrātṛpatnī tathaiva ca|
patnīmātā svamātā ca pañcaite mātaraḥ smṛtāḥ||
"The wife of the king, the wife of the teacher, the wife of the elder brother, the mother of one's own wife and one's own mother — These are considered the five mothers of a man"

nānnodakasamaṁ dānaṁ tithirnaikādaśī samā|
na gāyatryāḥ paro mantraḥ na mātuḥ paradaivatam||
There are no alms that are equivalent to that of grain and water; there is no day (thithi) equivalent to Ekadashi. There is no mantra superior to Gayatri mantra and there is no God superior to one's mother

api svarṇamayī laṅkā na me lakṣmaṇa rocate |
jananī janmabhūmiśca svargādapi garīyasī ||

Even Lanka, decked with all it’s gold doesn’t endear itself to me;
Mother and Motherland are greater even than heaven.
(Rama said this to Lakshmana in Lanka)

This is one of the most famous/repeated quotes on patriotism/respect for one’s motherland.
